About Us

Meet Your Instructor

Julia Overstreet, DPM, FAPWCA, brings her podiatric expertise directly to nurses through the American Foot Care Nurses Association (AFCNA). As a credentialed podiatric educator and clinician, Dr. Overstreet has built these continuing education programs around a simple belief: foot care nursing skills are best learned by doing.

That's the idea behind our Hands-On Foot Care Workshop. Rather than another lecture-only CE course, this is a small, in-person clinical training program designed to build real competency and confidence at the chairside — the kind you can only get through supervised, hands-on practice.

Why Hands-On Matters

Foot Care Nursing requires more than textbook knowledge. Nail and skin assessment, safe instrument technique, and recognizing red flags that warrant referral are skills built through repetition and expert feedback — not just video modules. Our workshops keep class sizes intentionally small so every attendee gets individualized instruction and ample practice time with Dr. Overstreet and her experienced Foot Care Nurse Preceptors.

What You Can Expect

  • Small class sizes for focused, individualized attention
  • Direct, hands-on instruction from a licensed podiatric physician
  • Practical skills you can bring back to your patients immediately
  • Continuing education credit for participating nurses

Location

Workshops are held in Issaquah, Washington. Issaquah is just outside of Seattle Washington. You will fly into SEATAC International Airport in Seattle. The clinic location is approximately 30 - 45 minutes away by car, Uber, etc.

About AFCNA

The American Foot Care Nurses Association supports nurses who provide foot care through continuing education, clinical training, and professional resources — helping bridge the gap between general nursing education and the specialized skills foot care patients need.
